“La Ruta de la Sal” regatta

In: Outdoor | 18/03/2006 |

PORTADA.jpgFrom April 13 to 16, coinciding with Easter weekend, a new edition of the regatta for sailing cruisers ““La Ruta de la Sal”” will take place. This event remembers the trips to the island to collect salt, an important source of income for the Pitises islands before the arrival of tourism as main source of income when it was called the “white gold”.
The regatta starts from two different ports, the Reial Club Maritim de Barcelona and the Club Nautic de Denia, and both end in the port of Eivissa. The route from Barcelona is free, but the route from Denia to the harbour of Eivissa town, is keeping the islands of Formentera and Tagomago on port side. This year the list of accepted inscriptions includes over 300 boats and 2,200 crew members.
