600.000€ spent on coastal projects

In: Beach life | 29/06/2006 |

The Madrid Central Government has spent 600.000€ on maintaining and conserving the coastal areas around the Pitiuses in the last year. Mostly the work has been centred on cleaning the coastal area, removing all types of debris and rubbish, installing waste receptacles, creating better accesses by improving natural pathways andf making ramps as well as improving sanitation installations and adding sand to certain areas of specific beaches. Included in the project have been the safety barrier and other measures taken at the Punta Sa Galera cliffs as well as work to preserve the dune system in Ses Salinas, Playa de Bossa, Cala Comte and Cala Vadella. In Formentera money has been spent on improving the wooden walkways and fencing, which provides the access to lots of the beaches.
