Since 1975 Ibiza has been something of a bolt-hole for the well-known fashion and advertising photographer Chico Bialas. Over many years Bialas has been nurturing the idea of paying homage to this, his favourite corner of the world, granting the island some of the space which it in turn had set aside for him.
Bialas’ photos are focused on the spirit behind a simple gesture, on objects whose function no longer exists. Space is passion.
Behind every image is the sense of the object`s inner essence of desire drunk to the full, seizing hold of transient yearning.
