Bad season for 60% of the business in Ibiza
In: News | 29/09/2007 |
According to a survey on the online edition of local newspaper Diario de Ibiza 60% of business based in Ibiza recorded poor results comparing to the previous year.
Results are not surprising if we remember that in June three of the major clubs were shut down for a month by authorities and at the beginning of July a ship loaded of oil products sunk in front of Ibiza port causing oil slick over three of the most popular beaches. To not mention the bomb hoax at Ibiza Airport widely reported by the international press…

i wasnt aware that dc10 and dc10 were a major club?
the closings started in mid june
and only amnesia arguably lost out more as they lost 2 weeks (they werent even open when they were forced to close)
the counter to your post would be the incessant airport and tourist figures
if businesses are suffering its not because of lack of people - its who you ask…
With our post we meant that club closures, oil slicks, and bomb hoax could have kept some people away from the island.
We did not mention any lack of people, even if, final statistics have still to be released.
ps. ok, dc10 is not a major club but many people come to Ibiza to go there. Or not?
