In: Press | 29/07/2007 | 0 Comments

timesonline1.pngTimes on Line keep their attention high on Ibiza. With today’s article they look at how Ibiza is turning to an island of very important “British” party people.
They don’t mention though you can still have great time here without any concierge, limousine, or party fixer…don’t you agree??

Ibiza for families: Hotel Presidente

In: Lodging, Press | 21/07/2007 | 0 Comments

timesonline.pngA recent article from the Times on Line titled “Europe’s best family-friendly hotels” suggests The Hotel Presidente in Portinaix as the most children friendly establishment in Ibiza.

HotelPresident.pngFar from the fleshpots of seedy San Antonio, it’s a quiet family resort with three sandy beaches wedged between pine groves and sparkling blue seas.
One of the beaches, Es Portitxol, has sheltered waters, perfect for snorkelling and swimming. Rent a car and you can explore the winding coast road, visiting tiny coves framed by green hills, and the hippie market at Es Canar. (Show me more…)

Time Out London: Ibiza a reason to visit Spain

In: Press | 27/06/2007 | 0 Comments

timeout_london128.gifAccording to a recent article published on Time Out London Ibiza is one of the six main reasons to visit in Spain.
In regards of Ibiza town Time Out says:

“The walled town at the heart of the island’s capital is a World Heritage Site, the Plaça de la Vila is packed with elegant shops and restaurants, and there’s a jazz festival at the end of July. There’s a lot of night stuff, too – try minimalist Grial (Av 8 de Agosto, 34 971 31 46 39) for pre-club drinks and then roll on to the Love Club (C Alzines 15, www.loveorganisation.com) until the sun rises and it’s time to go back to the beach. ”

The other Spanish destinations suggested by Time Out London are Alicante, Palma, Barcelona and Malaga.

4 Ibiza villas among the best in Europe

In: Press | 8/04/2007 | 0 Comments

logo.gifAccording to a recent article on The Guardian 4 out of 20 great designer villas located in Europe are in Ibiza (6 in total in Baleares). The Ibiza winners according to the author, Gemma Bowes, are:

3rd - Libelai, Santa Gertrudis, Ibiza
‘Libelai is the complete antithesis of the wood-beamed, terracotta-floored traditional finca,’ reads the catalogue blurb. Minimalism is the rule, but the white building has a Miami-in-the-Seventies look, with an open-plan living room opening onto the stretched oblong pool, palm trees in the garden, clear Perspex dining seats and white space-age furniture. There are four double bedrooms and views of the countryside and Formentera, and the tapas bars of the charming Santa Gertrudis village.

Also The Observer uncovers Ibiza

In: Press | 1/04/2007 | 0 Comments

Observer_header.jpgWith a dedicated article written by Chloe Grimshaw also the Observer (registration required) finally uncovers today the rural side of Ibiza….

“…We came to realise that there are two very different sides to Ibiza: a glamorous clubbing scene and a relaxed rural way of life. Few people pause to think that there is life beyond Amnesia, Pacha and Manumission, the clubs that made Ibiza infamous in the Nineties. The unspoilt countryside filled with orange and lemon groves, wild-flower meadows and fields of fig trees is the unexpected side of the island…..”

The article is an extract from “Ibiza Style” by Chloe Grimshaw and Ingrid Rasmussen (£24.95, Merrell Publishers). To order a copy for £22.95 with free UK p&p, go to www.observer.co.uk/bookshop.

Benirras beach among the top 20 worldwide

In: Press | 14/01/2007 | 4 Comments

the times.jpgA today’s article on the travel section of the online edition of The Times secures Ibiza beach Benirras a place among the best 20 worldwide beach holiday destination.

Here’s the list you can find on the article:

1 - BENIRRAS, IBIZA
benirras5.jpg
Benirras, in the north of Ibiza, is about as far as you can get from the fevered fleshpots of San Antonio. Here, at the end of a long and winding mountain road, lies a perfect slice of sand, bookmarked by cliffs and overlooking a deep, calm bay. In the 1960s, Benirras became infamous as the scene of drug-fuelled orgies.
Today, it attracts a stylish mix of young Spaniards, Italians and Swedes, though the hippie vibe remains; each day, the mellow sunset is hailed by a chorus of bongo-players. Benirras has been protected from hotel developers, but there are several upmarket villas nearby, including one owned by a DJ, which has six bedrooms, a private pool, a music room and a sundeck.

2 - TROPEA, ITALY
3 - ILE DE RE, FRANCE
4 - CIRALI, TURKEY
5 - CHIA, ITALY
6 - MAWGAN PORTH, CORNWALL
7 - NAVARINO BAY, PELOPONNESE
8 - EILEAN SHONA, SCOTLAND
9 - SAINTE MAXIME, COTE D’AZUR
10 - SAN VITO LO CAPO, ITALY
11 - SESIMBRA, PORTUGAL
12 - OLUDENIZ, TURKEY
13 - BASKA VODA, CROATIA
14 - RAMLA BAY, GOZO
15 - PUERTO SOLLER, MALLORCA
16 - PENTREZ PLAGE, BRITTANY
17 - PUNTA SABBIONI, ITALY
18 - ST BRELADE’S BAY, JERSEY
19 - SANI, HALKIDIKI
20 - PINARELLO, FRANCE

What’s your favourite beach in Ibiza? Would you have voted for Benirras? Let us know!
